It’s been a long time since my last blog! 2015 was a good year, ending with some memorable gigs with Resolution 88 and guests and a couple of fun, creative improvised concerts with Cleveland Watkiss and Orphy Robinson in Cambridge and the Vortex in London.
The special Resolution 88, one off guest concerts with Soweto Kinch in London and the Cambridge Jazz festival gig featuring Dennis Rollins were a great success. They both added their unique voice to our music and gave the audience a spectacular, fun and sometimes mesmerising musical experience.
This year has lots of exciting projects and concerts in store, including a new Resolution 88 album. The recording process has begun and I will update you soon when we have a release date. We will also be supporting the release with tour dates to be announced soon.

It’s been a long while since I have posted a blog, but when you have a baby things get really busy 🙂 I have been mostly looking after the baby, doing lots of private gigs with Swagger and the odd jazz gig with different line ups and I also did a short support set for the Last Poets with Malik Al Nasir that was a lot of fun.
I wanted to share with you two upcoming concerts, the first being a fantastic tribute to Gil Scott-Heron with Malik and the OG’s. It will be held in Liverpools St. George’s hall, tickets are available here. There are many great acts and special guests as you can see from the poster below. It will be a historic event and I hope you can attend.
The other concert I am looking forward to very much is the Resolution 88 with Special guest Soweto Kinch. We will be performing in London on the 27th of September, tickets are available here, it should be a memorable night.
Many thanks, I will report back with pictures from both gigs.
Its been a while since the last post, its been a busy time in my life! I just wanted to share this upcoming date with you. I will be playing with Resolution 88 as part of a double bill with Kaidi Tatham at Ronnie Scotts in London on June the 10th. For tickets and more info click here.
Here is a video from our last sold out show at Pizza Express in London:
It’s been a very busy February and March looks even busier with some exciting gigs and clinics coming up.
I have just got back from Girona in Spain with Myles Sanko, where we opened the great Black Music Festival. It was a fantastic show, to a great audience as usual in Spain. They really like to sing along and get involved which makes the gig so much better!
Coming up this week, I will be playing a gig and taking part in a recording masterclass with the great Don Grusin. The gig is free to get in and there is a very limited number of tickets for the masterclass, more info here.
Finally, I will be at the London Bass Guitar show on Sunday hanging out and checking out some great concerts and masterclasses at the show.
Hello and happy new year! I have had a great 2014 and a fantastic holiday at the end of it, hence the late post.Last year was a very good year for me, I have been blessed with some great experiences, and part of some wonderful shows. Highlights of 2014 include the Hustlers Convention show at the Jazz Cafe (the documentary of that gig should be released sometime soon). Also at the Jazz Cafe, the album launch for Myles Sanko’s second album Forever Dreaming was incredible, sold out and lots of fun! Another great highlight was doing a masterclass in Dresden, Germany as part of the unique and truly fantastic Dresden drum and bass festival. It was a blast and I made new friends and learnt a few things from the great musicians at the festival. Thanks again to Warwick bass for supporting me in 2014!
2015 is looking like a great year again and has started with a tour of the Netherlands with Myles Sanko. I have added some dates that are coming up to the tour dates page. I am looking forward to going back to the Blue Note in Milan in March, this time with Myles Sanko and playing for the first time at Pizza Express Jazz club in London with Resolution 88!
Last weekend, I was playing with Myles Sanko band in Spain for a couple of concerts. We played in Zaragoza at Las Armas. It was a good gig, fun night in a new venue. The audience were happy to hear a band like ours as they don’t get many bands or artists from abroad, allegedly .
The next concert was at the familiar Tempo club in Madrid. It was a great concert and was sold out. Unfortunately more than one hundred people had to miss out as there was no more space! Next time we will do two shows!
It was nice to see new fans who knew the music and enjoyed themselves. Tomorrow we leave early to Copenhagen where we have three concerts in Denmark. You can find out where to get tickets here.
It’s been a good month, October has been very busy so far with a nice varied amount of gigs. I have been to Paris with Myles Sanko and will be going to Barcelona this week for a concert, tickets are available here. Also had the pleasure of playing for drunk horse race punters in Newmarket, which was different.
The start of a new academic year at Anglia Ruskin university has started and an exciting year of learning and teaching begins.
There will be new 2015 dates added very soon to the tour date page as soon as they are confirmed.
I have had a great time at the Dresden drum and bass festival and would like to thank Matthias Barthel and his wonderful crew, made up of mostly of volunteers to make this non-profit event happen. I would also like to thank Warwick for making it possible for me to be there.
My clinic went well I think, there were many great questions about the projects I am involved in, how to solve musical problems and other insights. It was also a great opportunity for me and others to meet and learn from some great musicians, offering great advice and insight in different aspects and styles of music.
It was a interesting to learn from the experiences of great drummers like Poogie Bell, Mark Guiliana and fantastic bass players like Jeff Berlin, Yossi Fine and Chris Morrisey. I also enjoyed the performances of Anika Nilles, Trilok Gurtu and the Jazz pistols. I just wish I knew how to speak German as I did not understand anything that was said, but from the crowd reaction it was entertaining and funny.
I hope to come back one day to this festival and share new experiences and learn some more valuable lessons and make new friends.
Coming up next in October there are tour dates with Myles Sanko in the UK, France and Spain as well as a concert with Maurice Cannon formerly of the Drifters. Also a new teaching year begins at Anglia Ruskin University to look forward to next week.
